It's like riding a bicycle; initially you think you cannot do it because you're scared to fall down as you don't know how to balance your weight yet but eventually you'll get the hang of it.
The most important thing is to find the right musical instrument for you. I've tried several instruments (guitar, ukulele, piano, violin, kalimba) before settling on one. I was drawn to the guitar in my teenage years but after quite a bit of trying, I failed miserably to play decent music on the guitar. I guess it was enticing for me because I saw a lot of other guys look cool while playing it and I wanted to be like them.
Over time, I realised you have to pick an instrument that resonates with your soul. Don't think how difficult it will be to learn to play the instrument or how expensive lessons will be or that you'll never be able to afford this instrument. Just think how it sounds like and if that's something you'd want to be able to do with all your heart, no matter how long it takes.
Remember you should not play an instrument to impress others but to express yourself.
This community is about musicianship to give people an appreciation for music and to help them along their journey to play an instrument of their choice.
